Central to the course is developing the employability skills valued by employers in general and necessary for effective work in the health sector. These skills are embedded in the different units providing you with the opportunity to practise and develop these skills throughout the course. You will have the opportunity to develop your employability skills through practical activities in real or simulated work environments, investigations and team-working activities. You will also be involved in self-evaluation of these skills, seeking feedback from others, identifying areas for improvement, taking account of the feedback received and reviewing you progress throughout the course.
Expert guest speakers and practical experiential learning will form a large part of the delivery to this course. The assessment will be carried out internally by the teacher providing greater flexibility in timing of assessment.
All assessment is internal and conducted on an ongoing process throughout the academic year and then externally verified by SQA. All units will require written and/or recorded oral and performance evidence. All units must be completed and passed to achieve the full award.
