This course is optional
This is an introductory qualification for Travel and Tourism, and develops the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed for work in the Travel and Tourism Industry.
There are 4 units covered in the course:
1) Employability
2) Customer Service
3) UK and Worldwide
4) Scotland
Successful students can progress to other SQA courses, e.g. Higher Geography, Business Courses, further study, training or employment.
There will be case study tasks, practical tasks and assignments throughout the course.
Learning is through practical experience:
learning in real or simulated workplace settings
learning through role play activities in vocational contexts
carrying out case study work · planning and carrying out practical tasks and assignments
And planning and reflection:
preparing and planning for the experience
taking stock throughout the experience, reviewing and adapting as necessary
reflecting
The course is assessed by Unit Assessments, which correspond to the 4 units mentioned above. Each assessment carries an SCQF score of 6 which combine together to Award the National 5 Skills for Work Travel and Tourism Course.
