National 5 Skills for Work Maritime Skills is offered to young people looking to work or gain knowledge of the maritime environment and industry.
Namely - Offshore, Fishing, Leisure, Engineering, Outdoor Education, Renewables, Merchant Navy and Royal Navy.
Course content includes 5 mandatory units:
Seamanship – an introduction (Nat 5, 6 SCQF credit points)
Maritime Environment – an introduction (Nat 5, 6 SCQF credit points)
Small Boat Engineering (Nat 5 , 3 SCQF credit points)
Health and Safety in the Maritime Sector (Nat 5, 6 SCQF credit points)
Employability Skills and Careers in the Maritime Sector (Nat 5, 3 SCQF credits)
