This course is a taster course for Business Accounting. It will give pupils a basic understanding of the Finance Department in business and financial information businesses use so that they can prepare some accounting statements and analyse, interpret and report on an organisation's financial performance.
During the course spreadsheets will be used to prepare financial documents, improving learners IT skills.
This course would lead onto National 5 Accounts and would also be very useful for National 5 Business Management.

Assessments will involve completing financial documents, some by hand and some using spreadsheets. Assessments will be done throughout the year once each topic is completed.
Some homework will be issued each term to help consolidate pupils' learning.
