This course is optional
The course consists of 4 units:
Software Design and Development – pupils will use modular software developing environments to develop knowledge and understanding of practical problem-solving skills in software design and development by analysing, designing, implementing, testing and evaluating practical solutions.
Computer Systems – pupils will gain an understanding of how data and instructions are stored in binary form and look at factors affecting system performance. They will also gain an awareness of the environmental impact of intelligent systems, as well as the security risks, precautions and laws.
Database Design and Development – pupils will develop an understanding of database systems through a range of practical tasks, using a minimum of three linked tables and implemented in SQL.
