The course has 3 component units:
Understanding Business
Management of Marketing and Operations
Management of People and Finance
Entry into this course would normally be a qualification of:
National 5 Business Management or equivalent
Learners will develop relevant skills, knowledge and understanding by carrying out learning activities relating to the role of business organisations and entrepreneurship in society, using real-life contexts.
To gain the award for this course, students must pass the internal unit assessments for the 3 component units, course assignment and the external examination.
The external assessment will be based on a written paper of 2 hours 45 mins duration and an assignment.
Exam Paper:
Section 1 is a case study with compulsory questions worth 40 marks.
Section 2 ‘Extended response’ questions will have 50 marks and all questions are compulsory.
Assignment :
Learners should use a wide range of sources of relatively complex business information relevant to the context of the assignment, and to present their findings in a report worth 30 marks.
