ARTIST STATEMENT

I consider myself a contemporary realist painter, deriving deep satisfaction from depicting some part of reality to look like what it looks like, to draw and paint what I see. Now in my golden years I am refining my creative power, and practice figure drawing and painting as often as possible, through open studios and hired models. I love to paint the human figure; meanwhile I find that my primary passion is portraiture.
