Hello, this is Xiao Ding (丁笑), PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Arizona. My research examines authoritarian politics, with a focus on propaganda, public opinion, and protest dynamics in China and Vietnam.

My work combines survey experiments, media analysis, cross-national data, and qualitative interviews.

My research has appeared in Governance and is under Revise and Resubmit at the Journal of East Asian Studies. My current projects examine how foreign influence claims shape public attitudes toward protest and state responses to social movements in China.
