About me
I was born and raised in Dallas and have lived in Austin, Nashville, Knoxville, and New York City. I've been teaching ELAR for 16 years, and I absolutely love teaching 6th grade. I have a 10 year old daughter, Ruby, who goes to school in AISD, and we live in Harvest. I love to read, of course! I also like to play chess and video games, and to go birding and mushroom foraging.
Education
I have bachelor's degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in English Honors and Political Science. Go Longhorns! I have a master's degree in English Education from Columbia University. Go Lions?
I'm certified to teach K-12 English Language Arts, with supplemental certifications in the Science of Teaching Reading, English as a Second Language, and Gifted & Talented education.
Hablo español a un nivel intermedio, así que, si lo prefieres, podemos hablar en español, especialmente por correo electrónico.
