Personal Safety- 5th grade
In guidance classes this month, Mrs. Edge is talking about safety rules for elementary students. These lessons are developmentally appropriate and help students feel empowered without making them feel scared. This week in 5th grade we talked about Internet and Online Safety rules. They played a fishing game or Blooket and answered questions from scenarios of online issues. We have the BEST students and I am very thankful to be their school counselor. Always let me know if you have any questions about my curriculum or need support with anything.

Family Connections:
Setting boundaries with children is essential for helping them feel safe, seen, and emotionally regulated. Clear, consistent limits provide a sense of security by showing kids that their environment is predictable and cared for. Boundaries also communicate that their needs and emotions are acknowledged, helping them feel understood and valued. When children know what to expect and that adults are guiding them with love and consistency, it supports their ability to manage emotions and build self-control over time. Below are some boundary statements you can use at home.
