Professional Pathways for Trainers Working Group

The objective of the Professional Pathways for Trainers (PP4T) Working Group is to address the professional development of eResearch and data skills trainers, in order to enhance the quality and impact of the eResearch and data skills training provided to the Australian research community.

The strategy is to:

  • build a diverse collection of career profiles of data and digital research skills trainers from across the Australian research community. These personas will inform the scope of identifying professional trainer certification options available locally and internationally.

  • describe the communities these trainers are emerging in

  • undertake data mining analysis of position descriptions in order to understand skills requirements by recruiters for skills trainer roles and to map learning pathways for trainers’ career progression.
