Bring Four Years of Coursework and Personal Experiences Together

The Senior Capstone Project is the opportunity for students to bring four years of coursework and academic and personal experiences together by engaging in an extended project in their interest of study. This year's sport management capstone projects are designed to explore different topical areas, from the stock market prediction using machine learning, to human capital in sports. The student presentations and study abstracts are available below.

Project Title: An investigation of whether using soccer-specific stadiums or multi-purpose stadiums are a better fit for an MLS franchise

by Matthew Goldberg

Matthew Goldberg 

Matthew Goldberg is a senior at Arcadia University pursing a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management while minoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. He is from Titusville, NJ. Matthew is a 4-year member of Arcadia’s Men’s Soccer Team. Throughout Matthew’s career at Arcadia he interned with two different organizations. At the end of his sophomore year he interned with a digital marketing company called Dovr Media, where he learned about social media marketing, reputation management, and search-engine optimization (SEO). In his Junior and Senior year Matthew interned with Next Level Soccer Academy as a Social Media Coordinator and the Director of Goalkeeping. As a Social Media Coordinator, he learned about the ins and outs of social media posting and content creation. While working as the Director of Goalkeeping Matthew created training plans and taught athlete at the youth level techniques of proper goalkeeping. He hopes one day to work as an Athletic Director at the collegiate level.

Project Title: A dive into what skill in golf has the highest impact on the amount of money an athlete can earn in the sport

Connor Haines 

Connor Haines is senior Sports Management major with a Business Administration minor from Rockville, Maryland. In his first two years at Arcadia Connor was a member of the Men’s Lacrosse Team. Over his career at Arcadia, he interned with several different sports organizations. Following his sophomore year, he interned with Baltimore Orioles where he was a club house assistant in the visiting team locker room. He got to see the personal and professional side of MLB players while assisting them with any of their needs while at the ballpark on gameday. Secondly, during his junior year Connor did an internship with the Reading Royals, A ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, where he was a ticketing office intern along with game day operations staff before the season was cut short due to Covid. Lastly during his senior year, he has been completing his internship at Philadelphia Country Club where he is learning what it takes to organize play, maintain facilities, along with a number of other daily tasks. He hopes to one day become a golf course superintendent to a top 100 club in the country.        

Project Title: The correlation between payroll and performance in the NBA

Nicole Kress

Nicole Kress is a senior at Arcadia University obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management while double minoring in Business Administration and Accounting. She is from Jarrettsville, Maryland. Nicole is a 3-year member of Arcadia’s Women’s Lacrosse team and was named team captain her senior year. She has interned for Sportabella as an event lead where she was in charge of brand promotion, inventory, event management, and point of sale marketing. She also has various skills including leadership, communication, and management. Upon graduation, Nicole would like to pursue a career in either marketing or operations within a professional or collegiate sports athletic department.

Project Title: A forecast and analysis of the prices of sports-related stocks using machine learning techniques

Alex Kuchnicki

Alexander Kuchnicki is a senior at Arcadia University pursuing a double major in Sport Management and Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. Alex is a 4-year member of Arcadia’s Men’s Soccer team, and has had a variety of internship experiences throughout his college career. Following his sophomore year, he gained managerial experience interning in operations at TD Bank Ballpark, and after his junior year he was able to learn about sponsorship sales and sports marketing working for Maestroe Sports and Entertainment. Alex has also interned with the Philadelphia Union Academy. These experiences has helped him develop a great work-ethic in addition to communications and management skills that will help him pursue his career aspirations of working in professional sports.


Project Title: Correlating advanced player evaluation statistics to team wins

Kameron McKithen

Kameron Mckithen is from Trenton, NJ. He is a senior, Sports Management Major, at Arcadia University. He is a former student athlete. He was a member of Arcadia’s Men’s Lacrosse Team during his first two years at Arcadia. After Lacrosse, Kameron shifted focus towards studying for the LSAT and gaining internship experience. Kameron has interned for UPenn Athletic Ticket Office, Trenton Municipal Court, Bobby Campell Lacrosse Foundation, and Lennon Maxwell Interactions Philadelphia. After graduating Arcadia, Kameron will be attending Villanova Charles Widger School of Law as a Dean’s Merit Scholar. Kameron’s goal is to pursue a career in the sports industry as a Sports Attorney/Agent. Aside from sports law, Kameron also has interest in business law and public Interest.


Project Title: What NFL play type proves most effective in predicting winning percentage

Joseph Pedisich

Joseph Pedisich is from Lake Ronkonkoma, New York. He is a senior who is a two- sport student- athlete participating for the Men’s Lacrosse Team for all four years and was also a part of the Men’s Swim Team for three. Throughout his career at Arcadia, Joseph has interned with FLG Lacrosse, Smashville PBA, and One Energy Global Inc. After graduation, Joseph one day would like to become a head coach at the college level for either lacrosse or swimming.  

Project Title: An examination of how increasing average driving distance affects finishing position at a PGA Tour event

Brian Siket

Brian Siket is a senior Sport Management major out of Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He spent his first year at Misericordia University before finding his home at Arcadia University in Glenside. His first two years were spent as a student athlete playing baseball. Brian has spent the last two years pursuing his love of golf with Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne, PA, learning the ins-and-outs of the industry.  He plans to attend graduate school in route to a golf management degree while working toward his PGA certification. With this he hopes to secure a professional or instructor position at a top 10 golf course.


Project Title: NFL fan violence- An examination of what factors impact arrest number

by David Skolnick

David Skolnick

David Skolnick is a senior Sport Management major from Wayne, New Jersey. During his time at Arcadia, David interned for two different organizations and volunteered for another. During his sophomore year, he volunteered to help with a brand activation for YSC sports where he learned about operations management and some sports marketing. His Junior semester included an internship for a small accounting firm, during which he worked alongside an experienced accountant. Then, during senior year, David interned for a sports media company called SportsMe. While interning there, he got a glimpse into the world of startup life and was taught the ins and outs of sports media. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a law degree and to one day become a sports agent.
