What is PBIS?

The Positive Behavior Interventions Supports (PBIS) program is based upon a philosophy of recognizing positive contributions of students.

Parents, teachers, and students must work together to maintain a safe learning environment. As part of PBIS, teachers, administrators and support staff will have the responsibility to teach positive behavior expectations to students.

Forest Hill Expectations

Forest Hill CLC's PBIS Expectations are to be responsible, accountable, organized, and respectful. Students are expected to follow the 4 expectations in all areas of the school.

Positive Reinforcement

ROAR Bucks

Here are the ROAR Bucks students can earn during lunch, in the hallway, Restroom Break and anytime a student is being ROARtasic!

Class Dojo

Throughout the building, there is another way that some teachers will reward students who are being responsible, organized, accountable, and respectful. In these particular classes, when teachers observe these behaviors students will earn DOJO points which will be redeemed like ROAR Bucks. When observed in other common areas of the school by staff members students will receive ROAR Bucks. Students are able to make school store purchases with Dojo points earned.

ROAR School Store

Students can make purchases with ROAR bucks or DOJO points earned at the Forest Hill CLC ROAR School store bi-weekly. Forest Hill CLC's school store inventory is sponsored by our Community Supporters. Teachers and staff members also make contributions to the school store. Students in grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade provide input on items that they would like to see added to the school store via lunchtime school discussions. Students in grades 3 through 5 provide input on items they would like to see inventory in the store via a google form student survey.

What is my role as a parent?

  • Ask your child to tell you some school behavior expectations.

  • Discuss ways that these expectations can be used at home and in the community.
