About me
Hello! I am Brenna Valencia, your student's U.S. History or Sociology teacher this year. This is my fourth year teaching at Cibola High School. I am excited to be back and to see how this year goes. Seeing the students back in school and engaging in collaborative, cooperative learning will be wonderful! You will find the U.S. History and Sociology class pages on this website. U.S. History class overview:
The historical context of this course focuses on the following: political, economic, and social events and issues related to industrialization and urbanization, major wars, domestic and foreign policies, and reform movements, including civil rights. Students will examine the impact of geographic factors on major events and eras and analyze their causes and effects. Finally, students will use various primary and secondary sources to understand and interpret the past, including multiple points of view and historical context.
Socilogy class overview:
This course was created to introduce you to the discipline of sociology. The intention is to provide you with opportunities to learn the basic concepts and perspectives that sociologists use in their work. More specifically, we will examine the nature of human society, social behavior, and the roles of groups, organizations, institutions, and cultures.
