5-9 June 2023
122 Cadets from 14 Albuquerque Public Schools, Santa Fe Public Schools, and Coolidge, AZ in attendance for a very full week(+) of leadership training and education.
Highlights included white water rafting, 7 mile conditioning hike to the top of Sandia Peak (3,500' elevation gain), and a very somber visit to the Holocaust Museum for both guided tour and to hear first-hand from Holocaust survivor descendants.
Other significant training and education included GPS land navigation training at the Albuquerque Bio Park, emergency medical training and evaluation, a day long Squad Wars exercise consisting of 9 separate squad missions, our Atrisco campus Leadership Reaction Course, and a GPS geo-cache scavenger hunt.
The energy and excitement from Cadets and Instructors from the first formation right through final dismissal was nothing short of being both inspiring and contagious. Instructors led, guided, influenced, and motivated Cadets who in turn motivated Instructors through their energy, passion, and desire to work HARD to succeed in every challenge issued.

VFW Post 6216 invited us to honor those members whom participate in the Run For The Wall motorcycle ride. For those that doesn't know about RFTW it's a ride that starts off in California and end in Washington DC. They do it to promote healing among ALL veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action, to honor the memory of those Killed in Action from all wars, and to support our military personnel all over the world. It's a huge event in our nation. Imagine seeing a procession of over 1,800 motorcycles driving down Coors or Hwy 66 and not being able to drive until they've passed, wow & yikes. Anyways, a small group decided to grace the VFW for dinner and we were honored to present a color guard team.

Our team were especially prideful this day, they understood the significance of this event. GoC MC hosted this event to give abused and underprivileged children a day to smile, laugh, enjoy themselves, and receive gifts such as bicycles; toys; sport equipment, away from the pressures and stress of their daily lives.
