Classroom Expectations
Personal Electronics
This school year students will be expected to keep their cell phones in their backpacks at ALL times during the school day.
Students will also not be allowed to take their cell phones out during passing periods or keep them in the pockets. If cell phones are out during the school day or in pockets, they will be asked for the cell phone, and the device return process will be followed.
For each 9 week grading period the device return process is as follows:
1st Offense: Warning - Student will pick up their phone in the front office at the end of the day.
2nd Offense: 2 Days of Lunch Detention - Student will pick up their phone in the front office at the end of the day.
3rd Offense: 5 Days of Lunch Detention - Student will pick up their phone in the front office at the end of the day.
4th Offense: Conference with parent/guardian - Student will turn in their phone to the front office daily for the remainder of the quarter.
5th Offense: Parent/Guardian conference to determine solution such as, but not limited to: additional lunch detentions, Student Success Center, turning in phone to the front office at the beginning of each day and picked up at the end of day until the end of the school semester or year.
Preparation
How ready are you?
Dressed in a proper clothing at ALL Times
Have all the materials I need
Completing and turning in assignments on time
Choose a distraction-free space.
Coming to class with my assigned Chromebook fully charged
Use online tools appropriately
Taking good care of my assigned Chromebook
Informing a teacher or other JMS Staff member when/if there is a problem with the Chromebook
Use equipment as intended.
