4th Grade Learning

What will we learn?

We are starting the school year with distance online learning and then our learning model may change later. This may make us feel worried and stressed out. Don't worry, we will figure things out so that we still learn and have fun this year! It might take us a little while to get used to things. We also might have to try some types of learning and then change to make things better. This is what I HOPE we will be able to learn about this year:

• YOU: learning more about yourself as a learner and gifted person

• Animals and You--research an animal you would love to be and create a poem and project

• Math Projects and a math unit called Math Quest

• Hands On Equations--Levels 1

• Inventions--learn about inventions, inventors, and the inventing process and BECOME an inventor

• Junior Great Books fiction stories and nonfiction (workbooks)

• TouchPebbles and/or Jacob's Ladder reading and discussions

• Creativity/Critical Thinking projects using various resources like Byrdseed TV

• Creativity/Critical Thinking activities, like challenges and drawings

HOW will we learn?

We we are distance learning, we will still try to have ways to work together. We can share ideas in small group or whole group class meetings. We will be able to do some of our work with others. You will complete some work on your Chromebook, but you will also have some options to do work on paper instead (so we are not ALWAYS on our devices. We will talk more about these options soon.
