Dear Parents and Guardians:

Greetings! My name is Bonnie Finch. I am so happy to be returning to Arroyo Del Oso Elementary this fall as your APS district music teacher. It is great to be part of the ADO family once again.

This year, your child will be learning the basic elements of music (beat, rhythm, tempo, meter, pitch, dynamics, form). Students will develop skills in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, as they explore music through listening, singing, movement, playing instruments, and creating. They will also use their critical thinking skills to connect their music-making to other common core subjects such as literacy, science, math, and social studies.

I hope that your child will share with you some of the things we are talking about in music class, or perhaps a song or a dance we are learning. I look forward to the months ahead and the opportunity to share this dynamic art form called MUSIC with your child.
