Class Overview

The Health Education program in 7th grade encourages the development of physical, mental, social, and emotional health, which will be carried over in the high school program. The emphasis in the 7th grade Health Education program is to develop personal health goals and general understanding of the skills needed to live a healthy lifestyle. Every decision is a health decision in some way.


The following units will be used to develop a general understanding of personal Health:

· Health, Wellness, and Life Skills

· Mental and Emotional Health

· Nutrition and Physical Activity

· Personal Safety/Violence Prevention

· Substance Abuse

· Sexuality


Classroom Management Policies:

  1. Be On Time

  2. Be Prepared

  3. Be on Task

  4. Be Respectful

  5. Be Positive

Consequences could include: signed agenda, a referral to the office, or a phone call home.


Grading Policy:

10% Daily Participation

20% Quizzes/Lesson Reviews

30% Notebook Checks (Vocabulary/notes/bell ringers)

40% Unit Test or Unit Group Project
