At Appalachian State, we encourage those who are interested in serving our local community, counties and state to engage in with Public Health AmeriCorps. Professional development, mentorship, and public health skill building are only a few incredible things becoming a PHA member has to offer.
Our current pillars of engagement include: Psychological First Aid Implementation, Data & Evaluation, Health For All, and APP Medical Reserve Corps. To be engaged as member not only provides an avenue for leadership and skill-bolstering, but continuous community engagement and support.
We appreciate the support from all members and our Research & Scholarship Team within our program.
We lead learning through experience, utilizing and building on skills like compassion, empathy, and flexibility.
Social perceptiveness is a core value of this fellowship. We explore implicit biases through broad-spectrum collaboration and transparent communication.
Health access for all regardless of means is the primary objective of this fellowship.
