CONGRATULATIONS! What an amazing journey it has been. All the kids have made such tremendous growth. What a wonderful year full of growth and successes. Report cards will be available online on June 17th. I hope everyone has a fun, safe and fabulous Summer Break.
IMPORTANT! SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAMS:
The kids worked hard this year, learned a lot, and now it is time for them to have some fun. However, did you know that research has shown that students can lose 20% to 30% of their learning over the summer months? Here are some ideas for you to help prevent the summer slide!
READ and WRITE EVERY DAY! 15 minutes is the minimum!
Access links to learning opportunities on this Soaring Into Summer page that Stacy Rosoff created. Or use the links below for APPS on Classlink accessed through "My PPS". Click the link for instructions on how to log on. You can also log onto i-Ready Math here.
Here are some top picks to keep up reading skills:
LEXIA (available through July)
Learning A-Z
Learning Ally
Sora
Tumblebooks
WORDWALL Fundations has a bunch of fun educational games. Choose a game that matches your child's level.
SUMMER READING SKILLS PROGRAMS: Sign up now before the classes fill up. These summer programs are available for K-11 grades. Click the link to find out more from the flyer.
SUMMER READING GAME BOARDS: I sent home the game boards from Multnomah County Library's Summer Reading program. Each student will take a game board home. The Summer Reading program is optional but a good way to encourage reading during summer break. There are some amazing prizes children can earn by doing the Reading Game boards! Please have your child read consistently over the Summer. I have extras if you need one.
PPS DIGITAL TOOLKIT SUMMER ACCESS: Students will have access to most PPS Digital Toolkit applications during the summer. Students who enroll in summer school may notice changes in some applications once summer school begins. Most PPS Digital Toolkit applications will remain active throughout the summer. Applications may be temporarily unavailable at the beginning of August as PPS shifts to the 2025-26 school year.
