This is the email that Mr. Denton sent out on Friday, March 27th, explaining Canyon Creek's plan for Northshore Learns 2.0.
Respectful behavior and language; Appropriate topic discussions; Appropriate video transmissions; Appropriate icon, emoji, and avatar submissions; School appropriate clothing (if attending meetings via video); Not plagiarizing or copying others’ work; Not falsifying information about themselves or impersonating others online.
Please also remember that we are using technology with an academic purpose. That means that all responses have the same expectations that they would in class: Complete sentences with capital letters and proper punctuation, proper spelling of content words (if we're talking about mammoths, make sure you spell mammoths correctly), staying on task/topic, etc.
I'm here to help, so if you have questions, please email me. Remember, we're learning this together, so let's all have some patience with each other.
All lessons and assignments for a subject will be posted by 9am on the day that subject is assigned.
All assignments are due by 3:40 the day before that subject meets again. (For example, reading assignments will be due by Sunday at 3:40.)
If you have questions, you may email me or come to a Zoom session at 10:00-10:30 on T/Th.
10:00-10:30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
This will be a time for you to ask questions, if you need, and connect and check in with each other.
You are not required to show up during office hours. (Although, it would be nice to see your smiling face!)
You don't have to log in right away or be there the whole time.
You're welcome to pop in and out as you need.
Fridays we will be doing a Fun Friday Activity/Game, as well.
Use the Zoom button on the Classwork page of our Google Classroom.
You may email me whenever you have a question. However, I won't always be available.
The times when I will be readily available and checking my email are 9-10:30 everyday (unless I'm in a Zoom meeting) and 1:00-2:30 on T/Th.
I do check my email frequently, but will also be working on grading, planning, and helping students. However, I will always answer you within 24 hours.
Just be aware, if you wait until the last minute to do your lessons, don't expect me to be immediately available to help. Plan ahead! ;)
