This course is a college level project based course that introduces the basic elements of designing and developing web pages. Students will learn how to plan and design effective web pages for business and personal use. Web pages will be created using HTML5 and CSS. Web Design develops four skill areas: Design, Research and Communication, Project Management and Collaboration, and Web Authoring Tools.
Five college credits are available to students meeting CTE Dual Credit(formerly known as Tech Prep) guidelines for this course. Students who register for this class through CTE Dual Credit and earn a grade of “B” (3.0) or better will earn college credits.
Course Objectives:
• To develop and install comprehensive web sites.
• To learn HTML and CSS.
• To learn common Web page formats and functions.
• To learn the proper elements of Web design.
Course Outcome: As a student completes the course, each one will be able to:
• Design simple and complex web sites.
• Understand basics of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheet (CSS).
• Create web pages and sites with text, images, internal and external hyperlinks, thumbnails, tables, image maps, frames, and forms.
