Why Indigenous Education?

It is important to recognize that Indigenous peoples have rich and vibrant cultures that are celebrated on a daily basis. It is also imperative to recognize that INTENTIONAL policies were created by the Canadian Government to disrupt and destroy Indigenous Culture.  As educators we have a moral obligation to teach the truth about the historical events, issues and impacts; however, it is equally as important and necessary, that we balance, discuss and celebrate the resilience and brilliance of Indigenous people.
