Link Crew Leader Training Dates: August 30 & 31
Edina Link Crew is a high school transition program at Edina High School that welcomes freshmen & sophomores and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience for the academic school year 2017-18.
Link Crew Leaders are juniors and seniors that serve as positive role models and student leaders who guide the freshmen and sophomores to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and help facilitate academic and social success.
Link Crew is a year long transition program with four components that contribute to its success:
- High School Orientation - Link Leaders and freshmen/sophomores start building the mentor relationship and freshmen/sophomores receive information about how to be successful in high school
- Academic Follow Ups in Advisory - Link Leaders support freshman/sophomore academic success and character development through the structured advisory block
- Social Follow Ups - Link Leaders and freshmen/sophomores connect outside the classroom at social events to increase student engagement, and promote positive school climate
- Leader Initiated Contacts - Link Leaders connect with their freshmen/sophomores on a more individual basis
