Edina Link Crew
Edina Link Crew is a high school transition program at Edina High School that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience for the academic school year 2018-19.
Link Crew Leaders are juniors and seniors that serve as positive role models and student leaders who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and help facilitate academic and social success.
What is Link Crew?
Link Crew is a nation wide school-service leadership program built on the belief that students can help students succeed. Link Crew Leaders are positive role models, motivators, and mentors who are well-rounded and active in school and/or their community. This year-long program provides opportunities for leadership training, community and school service hours, and individual growth in areas such as public speaking and team building. Being selected as a Link Crew Leader is a privilege.

Link Crew is a year long transition program with four components that contribute to its success:
- High School Orientation - Link Leaders and freshmen/sophomores start building the mentor relationship and freshmen/sophomores receive information about how to be successful in high school
- Academic Follow Ups - Link Leaders support freshman/sophomore academic success and character development through the structured advisory block
- Social Follow Ups - Link Leaders and freshmen/sophomores connect outside the classroom at social events to increase student engagement, and promote positive school climate
- Leader Initiated Contacts - Link Leaders connect with their freshmen/sophomores on a more individual basis
Applications for Link Crew Leaders will open in March/April prior to the next academic year.
