As Maslow taught us in his "hierarchy of needs" we know that in order to feel safe and healthy(physically and emotionally), we need to have our most basic needs met first; food, water, a place to live and adequate means to keep that place operating. We know that many people are struggling to keep up with the bills, keep food on the table and worry about being able to afford the home they are living in. Some families were struggling before CoVid19 hit us and now are in an even more dire situation. We know that the stress you are facing is real and it has to be at the top of your priority list.
If you are in need of support, please see the resources below. You can also reach out to one of us.
If you are not in need, please consider supporting the needs of others. You can help a neighbor in distress, donate to your local food shelf, and/or consider joining in with SoWashCo Cares .

As caregivers, we want our children to be able to be successful in all parts of their lives: socially, emotionally, behaviorally and academically. However, it is not uncommon for children to struggle in one or more areas. Some children just need extra support from caregivers (parents/guardians, teachers or other trusted adults). However, some benefit from more specialized support from experts. As members of our Building Mental Health Team, we cannot advise you to seek out this support, but can provide resources if you choose to do so. We are willing to collaborate with outside clinicians to set up students for success at home and at school as long as a "release of information" form is signed. We tend to see better results when we "all work together."
