About Mrs. Berning
Why I Teach
Just as my two favorite elementary teachers modeled for and encouraged me, I want to encourage my students to be curious, pursue knowledge and become life-long learners. As my husband supported my dream of teaching children, I want to inspire my students in pursuing their hopes and dreams. For me, teaching children is both a privilege and awesome responsibility.
Education:
I graduated from Luther College in Decorah, IA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for several years. After volunteering and working with preschool and elementary-aged children, as well as homeschooling two of my own children, I returned to school to pursue my dream of teaching children. I recently completed my Master of Arts in Teaching from Concordia University - St. Paul and am licensed to teach Preschool through Grade 6 students.
