Students that participate in Theater at MGMS will work together to create productions that engage audiences, and showcase skills accquired during rehearsals. These include, and are not limited to, memorization, vocal projection, stage presence, creative thinking, collaboration, moving our bodies with purpose, advanced singing techniques, acting techniques, learning and performing choreography, reactive listening, time management, and decision making.
Being in a show can be hard work. We know sometimes you want to try something new but you are not ready to commit your future to being a Broadway star. There are ways to be involved and have an amazing time without having to memorize pages and pages of lines or sing a song by yourself on stage.
If you audition we will ask if you want to be considered for a large, medium or small role. This just means that we are wondering if you want to memorize and perform solo lines. The larger your role the more rehearsals you will come to.
Students in all sizes of roles are valuable to our shows and needed for each production. Having a small role doesn't mean you are not good or not talented, we place you in roles based on what is the best fit for that specific show. Some shows you may have a medium or big role some shows you may have a small role.
