Exciting news!

Girls on the Run is returning to Oak Ridge again this Spring! Girls on the Run is an after school program that uses the power of running to prepare 3rd - 5th grade girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Over the course of the 10-week, 20-lesson season, girls learn life-changing lessons about healthy friendships, teamwork, decision-making, self-respect and more, all while preparing to run a 5k. Open to all 3rd - 5th grade girls; no previous running experience required, and need-based financial aid is available. Register today! Our Spring 2017 season will be each Tuesday & Thursday 3:45 - 5:15 from March 21 - June 1 (no practices over spring break), culminating with the Girls on the Run 5k on June 3. Visit www.gotrtwincities.org or contact one of the coaches above for more information.

Girls on the Run 5K: Saturday, June 3rd at Normandale Community College.

"We believe that EVERY GIRL is inherently FULL OF POWER and POTENTIAL. By knowing they are the leaders of their lives, these are the girls who WILL CHANGE THE WORLD."

At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.

Don't let cost stop you from participating!

We'd love to have your daughter involved and we are committed to making Girls on the Run accessible to all girls. Thanks to generous donors and community supporters, program scholarships are available to any girl who needs it, and we can also provide running shoes and clothing to girls in need. The online registration form will walk you through a few questions to find the fee that is right for your family based on a sliding scale.
