Leadership Descriptions


Student Director

Responsibilities: take attendance, provide updates or schedule changes on Schoology page, collect forms and money, lead team-building games, manage student talking/behaviors during rehearsals, make posters for the show, use Google Sheets and Forms for organizing student information, be a good “cheerleader” for the entire production, give announcements to the whole cast and crew, and various other tasks not listed.  


Stage Manager

Responsibilities: record blocking, cues, changes to the script, prompt actors or provide lines as needed, record timing, give feedback for actors or stage crew; observe issues regarding blocking, staging, props, scene changes, or other aspects of the show and report to director for improvements; direct students on stage and back stage, communicate between booth director and director to ensure smooth transitions once in the auditorium; oversee all stage crew members, managing student talking/behaviors.


Costume/Prop Manager

Responsibilities: Read through entire script, recording all costumes, props, scenery required for production; record what we have in stock or need to purchase, directing several students in finding items; researching examples, creating list of props that need to be constructed, making character props, fitting costumes on students, repairing costumes if needed, making costumes or costume accessories.


Tech (or “Booth”) Director

Responsibilities: Read through entire script, recording all light, sound, and curtain cues. Search for sound effects needed throughout the show and download; set up sound system in daily rehearsals using ipad and speaker; use all sound effects during rehearsals, discuss with stage director the timing of cues in relation to the actors' lines or actions; manage all microphones and battery packs, batteries, and other accessories, assigning actors microphones, create a detailed list of all that is used.
