Greenleaf Art

Welcome to Art

What do artists do?

The child is the artist.

The classroom is their studio.

Art is a way for your child to explore their individuality through creative expression. With the help of the 8 Studio Habits of Mind and T.A.B. students will learn to think and act like artists. Throughout the year we will focus on each students unique ideas, process, technique and skills as well as self reflection and finding inspiration and connections to other artists.

"Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) is a PreK-12 learner-directed approach that meets the needs of all learners through choice, agency, flexibility, and emergent curriculum. "

Classroom Studio

The physical space of the art room is designed with the students in mind. We begin the year in the drawing studio and slowly add painting, collage, and more. Once the studio has a grand opening students are free to gather the supplies they need when they need it for an idea. Each studio includes art supplies, tools, informative posters, and neatly labeled storage so that students can help maintain the studio.
