Welcome to the Counseling Corner
The objective is to provide a well-rounded education and meet our students where they are. We prepare students for successful learning, responsible citizenship, and productive careers by providing a data-driven, comprehensive program that addresses academic, career, and social-emotional development.
Counseling Office: 317-804-4800
Open Daily: By appointment
At Apogee School, we understand that for gifted students, emotional growth is just as vital as academic excellence. To support students in navigating life's complexities, we are excited to announce upcoming Small Group Counseling Sessions for the 2026 school year.
These groups offer a safe and confidential space where students can connect with peers who share similar experiences, guided by professional support.
Our 2026 Group Focus Areas:
Mastering the Storm (Anger Management): Helping students identify triggers and develop healthy, constructive ways to express frustration and big emotions.
The Bounce-Back Lab (Resiliency): Building the mental toughness needed to navigate setbacks, overcome "perfectionistic paralysis," and thrive under pressure.
Healing Together (Grief & Loss): A compassionate space for those processing the loss of a loved one, providing tools for coping and remembrance.
New Horizons (Divorce & Family Transitions): Supporting students through the unique challenges of changing family dynamics and helping them find stability.
Social Connections (Social Skills): Focused on navigating complex social cues, building meaningful friendships, and effective communication.
Why Small Groups?
Gifted learners often feel "different." Small group settings reduce isolation, normalize their feelings, and allow for targeted skill-building that a standard classroom cannot provide.
Details:
When: Weekly. Time TBD
Who: Open to all students based on age-appropriate groupings.
Sign-up: Space is limited to ensure an intimate setting.
Take the next step in supporting your child's well-being.
Parents and guardians can learn more about the schedule and registration by contacting either Dr. Green or Mrs. Trepanier at 1-317-804-4800.
About me
Hello and welcome to Apogee's School Counseling website!
As your counselor, my goal is to support the academic success of all students. I work with students to assist them with academic, career, personal, social, and emotional concerns. I also work with students and families to support students in any way ranging from behavior concerns, community with outside resources, and successfully transitioning to high school and beyond.
Students can come by anytime to see me to make an appointment or drop in if I am available. Parents and guardians, please feel free to call or email if you have any questions, concerns, or would like to set up a time to meet.
I look forward to a wonderful year here at Apogee and working with all of our students and their families!

School Counselors work collaboratively with ALL students, parents, teachers, administrators, and local community agencies to help students with their academic success. School Counselors provide individual counseling, group counseling, and classroom lessons to students throughout the year. School counselors work on three domains with students: Academic, Career, and Social/Personal. School Counselors build comprehensive school counseling programs and curriculum that are developed around each schools specific needs. The School Counselor's role is to support the academic development of students which can mean identifying social and emotional issues that get in the way of academic success. School counselors work with students on issues that may impede their ability to be successful in classrooms. There are limits to what school counselors do. School counselors are not therapists and do not provide ongoing therapy. When ongoing therapy is needed, counselors work collaboratively with parents to meet students' needs.
The link below is a video explanation of School Counselor's role:
All students can reach their full potential.
School Counselors act as advocates for their students.
All students will receive equal access to the counselor.
All students should receive respect and unconditional, positive regard from the school counselor.
If a student would like to meet with me, they may drop a note off in my room. They may also ask any teacher or staff member to make an appointment come to see me.
If teachers are concerned about a student, they may email or text to refer a student.
If a parent has concerns and would like to meet regarding their child they may call, email or stop by school.
