The Board of Directors for The Greater Detroit Chapter of APICS are nominated and elected by active members. Board members hold their position for a period of one year, and meetings take place at least six times a year. Additional information about the Detroit Chapter Board can be found in our Chapter's bylaws.

Nate Jolliff CSCP - President

Results-oriented certified supply chain professional with over 15 years of senior leadership experience in Fortune 500 global companies, including Volkswagen Group of America and Navistar Inc. Nate has proven achievements in delivering beyond the expected in optimizing KPI’s, supplier scorecard, materials management, F&E, warehouse operations, driving a culture of continuous improvement, and implementing strategic growth strategies across complex matrix organizations. He currently works at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in Material Logistics Management as Sr. Program Manager, Global Logistics Engineering Standards.

The president of the APICS Greater Detroit Chapter leads and represents the chapter, follows up, keeps the board on track, and helps in meeting the goals and objectives in the marketing plan. It also presides chapter meetings, proposes policies and practices, and performs other duties as defined in the bylaws.

Jill Hays CPIM, CSCP - Executive VP & VP of Programs

Jill Hays is an Account Partner at CIBER, a role where she builds teams for her clients specializing in supporting Supply Chains with IT and Supply Chain professionals.

Ms. Hays brings with her over 20 years of experience in Supply Chain working with JC Penney, Handleman Company, Family Dollar, Dunhams, ITC, Fiat Chrysler and many other Fortune 1000 organizations. Her expertise lies within the planning, forecasting and replenishment, process reengineering and supply chain optimization through strategic team development, process improvement and the use of enabling technologies. Ms. Hays holds a Bachelors Degree in Management from Eastern Michigan University, and holds both CPIM and CSCP certifications from APICS.

The Vice President of Programs schedules programs for regular Professional Development Meetings, makes the necessary program arrangements and provides program information to the Vice President of Events and Vice President of Communications.

Chris Kushmaul - VP of Finance

Chris Kushmaul is responsible for leading IDV Solutions’ supply chain risk management practice including guiding the development, program management, and implementation of Visual Command Center for Supply Chain. Prior to joining IDV Solutions, Chris held positions managing global logistics and transportation management for Diebold Inc., General Electric, Delphi Automotive, and a 3rd party logistics service provider. At the beginning of his career, Chris served 11 years in the U.S. Army, first as an enlisted infantry soldier, then, after commissioning, as an airborne infantry officer in the 82nd Airborne Division. Chris holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, a Bachelor’s from U of M, and has earned a Risk Management Education Certificate from the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).

The Vice President of Finance is responsible for creating and maintaining corporation reports and filings, reporting of monthly performance-to-budget reports, cash flows, and Education and Events related support, and receiving and depositing all monies into the chapter accounts.

Margaret Park CPIM, CSCP, CLTD - VP of Education

Margaret is a Senior Project Engineer at Design Systems, Inc. She is responsible for managing project deliverables for assigned Supply Chain, Logistics, Material Flow, and Manufacturing projects. Supply Chain Management Logistics professional providing subject matter expertise, support, and thought leadership in the development of Supply Chain Solution Design & Transportation Management Systems capabilities and solutions. Including developing, communicating and executing a program, in collaboration with IT, for implementation and ongoing operations of ERP / TMS solutions.

The Vice President of the Detroit chapter of APICS is responsible for managing the quality of the Public and Private education offerings of the chapter, creating the yearly education budget and tracking the progress toward the budget throughout the year, managing the pool of instructors and assuring course material is current and available.

Becky Ferrell CSCP - VP of Marketing

Becky is an Independent Consultant specializing in Supply Chain management and improvement. With over 30 years of Supply Chain experience in the Automotive industry, she has a broad background in lean manufacturing and using best practices to improve material flow and inventory management. She has international experience, overseeing greenfield launches and brownfield transitions in several countries, building teams and finding creative ways to work in multiple cultures.

Vice President, Marketing is responsible for organizing, developing, and disseminating marketing materials. This role will work with other Board members to understand their needs and assist in developing appropriate marketing materials.

Jim Semerad CPIM, PMP, Jonah - VP of Alliance / Programs

Jim is a program management, information technology (IT), supply chain and logistics management strategy and planning consultant. He engineered and lead global information technology projects and innovative next generation IT solutions. As a Senior Supply Logistics Officer for the US Navy, he lead contract management, warehouse, ground-sea-air transportation, hazardous material, energy and fuels, kitting, maintenance operations, automated identification, computer applications, shop floor, lean, agile, and six sigma. He is an adjunct professor, certified trainer, author, and presenter. He has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and MBA in Management Finance from Louisiana Tech University and pursued advanced training in business strategy, international trade, and logistics. He holds a CPIM certification from APICS.

The Vice President of Alliances is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and maintaining relationships with other professional associations to further enhance the reach and relevancy of APICS to Operations Management professionals.

Joann Parrinder CPIM, CSCP, PMP - Secretary

Joann has over 20 years of experience in a variety of positions in the defense-aerospace (Burtek) and automotive (General Motors and Visteon Automotive) and Information Technology consulting (Genesis 10, EDS and Ajilon Consulting) industries. Her diversified background and experience has provided her with a broad business perspective that focuses on value for the customer and profit for company. Joann has an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University and a B.S. from Central Michigan University with a major in Mathematics-Statistics and a minor in IT. She is a PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certified and APICS CPIM and CSCP).

Sridar(Shree) Ranganathan - VP of Events

Shree is an Industrial Engineer at Geometric Americas, Inc. for the past 5 years and has worked on the new product launch, volume expansion and continuous improvement projects for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Case New Holland and Caterpillar, Inc. He has 7 years of manufacturing industry experience and specializes in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, New Product Introduction(NPI), Material Flow and Storage, Facilities & Equipment, Line Side Display and Value Stream Mapping. Shree has a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Wichita State University

Suneel Sekhri - VP of Corporate Development

Mr. Sekhr is a senior IT executive specialized on IT strategy, IT linkage to business processes and business objectives. With more than 25 years of experience, he has led a number of large global IT programs for HP, IBM, Arvin-Meritor and EDS/AT Kearney as well as large global ERP, PLM, SCM, MES system implementations that resulted in increased inventory turns, faster purchasing, improved on-time customer delivery, reduced logistics costs and reduced product design cost. He got his degree as Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an MBA from the Northern Illinois University.

The Vice President of Corporate Development identifies, negotiates and manages strategic relationships with corporate partners, leads in achieving APICS growth objectives and prioritizes new market opportunities for APICS promotion and expansion. Performs industry and market trends research for the promotion of APICS activities. Monitor opportunities in specific target Detroit areas and companies, including reviews and physical tours.

Dan Howe - VP of Membership

Currently working as a Senior Manager in the Corporate Strategic Risk Management team at GM. Specialty areas include Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Geopolitical and Strategy.

More than a 28 year career with GM. Degreed in Organizational Development and Leadership from Purdue University and holds a Masters in Administration from Central Michigan University. He held staff and leadership positions in Manufacturing and most functional areas of Supply Chain. Developed and implemented MP&L systems and processes globally.

The Vice President of Membership manages the overall membership function including the design and implementation of programs that broaden membership engagement for the chapter, increasing membership by an identified goal, and retaining current members. Greet guests and new members at all chapter functions. Compile membership statistics for chapter and region use.

Nesa Wu. Vice President of Education - Students (EMU Chapter).

Dr. Wu is a professor in the Department of Operations Research and Information Systems at Eastern Michigan University Awarded three times by the College of Business Faculty and twice by the Finance and Computer Information Systems Faculty, she is also recognized for founding the first Eastern Michigan University Student Chapter of APICS, which has been a platinum member for more than five years. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from Purdue University and a B.S. Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.

The Vice President, Education - Student Chapters, is responsible for overseeing the welfare and development of the EMU/APICS student chapters and in enlarging the student chapter base. This includes, but is not limited to, bringing education to students for learning beyond the class room under the form of seminars, workshops, professional presentations at their general meetings, Detroit chapter Professional Development Meeting attendance by students, board member attendance at Detroit chapter meetings. To carry out the enlargement of the student chapter base of Detroit Metro, the Detroit chapter must provide leadership and encouragement for its development by setting up a subcommittee of the VP of Student Chapters and at least two other board members.

Matt Stekier - VP of Policies and Procedures.

Matt has more than 18 years of experience working in industry and serving clients as a consultant in a wide variety of industries, with a concentration on supply chain management. His professional experience includes leading projects throughout the supply chain continuum, including supply chain network optimization and network design, process improvement in procurement and planning, in-plant material flow optimization and operational improvements, inventory reduction, and 3rd party logistics partner management. Matt has utilized his knowledge to successfully lead multiple lean initiatives and process improvement projects across a variety of industries, including high volume automotive production, military vehicle & construction equipment manufacturing, healthcare & medical device, apparel and footwear, as well as low volume niche manufacturing.

The Vice President of Policies and Procedures ensures the development and maintenance of the Chapter Benchmarking and Reporting (CBAR) tool. Oversee Board motions and impacts to By Laws, Policies, and Procedures.

Grant Wedgwood CPIM - VP of Communications & Webmaster

Grant Wedgwood is a Data Governance Analyst in GM’s Data Warehouse, a role focused on metadata management, access management, and providing business intelligence solutions. He also worked as a Business Analyst for CasterDepot, gaining experience in forecasting, inventory replenishment, and process improvement. Grant holds a Bachelors Degree from Grand Valley State University with a dual major in Supply Chain Management and Finance. He served as the Vice President of University Relations for GVSU’s APICS Chapter and obtained the APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) while completing his undergraduate studies.

Vice President, Communications is responsible for coordinating and disseminating chapter information to members and other interested parties, primarily through the chapter newsletter, social media such as Twitter and LinkedIn, and the chapter website.

Mark Knight CPIM - Director at Large - Events Team

Mark is a team oriented professional with over 35 years of experience in all phases of Supply Chain Management including: forecasting, master scheduling, capacity management, inventory control, purchasing, training, supervision and lean manufacturing. He has worked in aerospace, military, telecommunications, automotive, and commercial environments for such companies as Texas Instruments, Proface America, and E&E Manufacturing. His current position is Master Scheduler for Saline Lectronics. Mark has been a member of APICS since 1991 and is Certified in Production and Inventory Management. He also is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt (MMTC).

Ron Crabtree - Director at Large

Mr. Crabtree is an internationally recognized expert and author in business process improvement methodologies. Ron is president of MetaOps Inc., a training and consulting firm specialized in strategic business transformation. He has served as an instructor for the University of San Francisco in Supply Chain Management and for Villanova University developing and teaching Lean Six Sigma and other programs. Mr. Crabtree has been writing the “Lean Culture” Department within APICS Magazine, APICS, for 12 years running.
