Another academic year, another round of officer elections! A chance for candidates to show and prove their abilities to better lead the school.
YUGTO Partylist as they campaign for the SC Elections
From morning classes through the afternoon shift, candidates get the opportunity to campaign for 3 days in every classroom. With Prince Tungcul running for president, Ghiger Abril serving as vice president, Annika Gabuyo as secretary, Sofia Salting running for treasurer, Laura Magat serving as auditor, and Mariella Libunao their peace officer, this YUGTO party list is formed. YUGTO Party List presented a slide presentation throughout the campaign in which their qualifications, positions, suggested platforms, and events were all highlighted. The programs, which included the opening of sectors, academic competitions, environment-friendly projects, and fundraising activities for charity works, were also discussed. With regards to the events, YUGTO Partylist is open to suggesting occasions like an acquaintance party, k-pop day, anime and cosplay convention, color fun run, and music and dance festival.
“As someone who likes earning the chance to socialize with other people and exposing myself to fellow schoolmates, campaigning in other classrooms was exciting but of course, nerve-racking at first.”
- Mariella Libunao, running for Peace Officer
“It was nerve-racking but it was fun at the same time since I was able to meet other people or like students themselves.”
- Ghiger Abril, running for Vice President
Independent candidate for secretary Aisha Aguilar gave a presentation to introduce herself, outlining her qualifications, accomplishments, and what you can anticipate if you elect her: enjoyable and educational events, self-assured students, responsibility, and her best efforts. She also listed the activities she would be willing to suggest, including debates, gazebos, and theater productions, if she were to be elected secretary. On the other hand, Judy Romantico, another independent candidate for secretary, introduced herself to those in attendance and informed the audience that, if elected, she would handle arranging academic-related events.
“It was an experience and a challenge for me because I was campaigning to higher grade levels and I was quite nervous since it is my first time running as a Secretary for the whole grade level/school. Overall, win or lose it was a great experience for me.”
- Aisha Aguilar, running for Secretary
“My experience during the campaign felt tiring and confusing since there I had to go through different rooms and also I'm not familiar with all the rooms each grade level use but other than that, for me, I had a good experience learning what to do for a campaign as well as speaking in front of other students that are not just my classmates”
- Judy Romantico, running for Secretary
As the three-day campaign came to an end, everything went according to plan and there were no issues or difficulties. In the end, the campaign was a success. They would do everything in their power to showcase their capabilities for you in an effort to win your vote.
