The highly anticipated ‘PASIKLABAN: Tunggalian ng Talento at Kakayahan’ took place! April 11, 2023 finally held the preliminaries of both Case Studies; Sustainable Economy and Green Recovery.
Case Study Science preliminary rounds began at 1 PM and lasted until 4 PM. Green Panthers being the first contestants to present with their study entitled “Pyro-Production : A Chemical Negative to a Positive” tackling how waste at fast food restaurants could potentially be minimized in Pasig City. The following contestants to present were the White Wolves with their study “Pasig on its Path to a Superior Future with Sustainable Agriculture” addressing the improvement of agriculture by reducing air and water pollution for long-term sustainability.
The competition resumed after a 20-minute break, with Yellow Leopards presenting the paper they wrote whose title is “Food Waste Controllability for the Betterment of Pasig City”, leading the second round of the preliminary round. Lastly, the event ended after Red Jaguars presented their commendable “Oplan: RaR against excessive food waste (Reduce and Reuse)” discussing a deliberate approach to reduce the amount of food waste disposed in landfills through the use of biofuels and composting.
The panelists for the preliminary round—Miss Jana De Jesus, the academic coordinator, as well as the President and Vice President of the Student Council, Vonn Jhenzon Puga and Prince El John Tungcul—carefully questioned each group's research, making them nervous. Although remarks were made almost instantly, those remarks would determine who advances to the Green Recovery: Case Study Science Finals.
As the preliminary competition came to an end, the judges now have the challenging duty of choosing the best contestant from among those who have best displayed their skills and qualities. It was a thrilling experience, filled with excitement and anticipation, and the energy in the room was palpable. We are eager for the final competition and are compelled to thank everyone for their effort and commitment. We wish them luck as they get ready for the next phase and anticipate seeing even more outstanding performances from them.
Case Study: Business

Graphia, the Digital Arts and Photography Club held an amazing ACP event last April 1, 2023. The hosts, Claire Catalan and Ryza Eireene Uy prepared games such as Four Pics and One Word and Guess the Drawing that kept the program fun and exciting.
After the White Wolves' presentation, the Red Jaguars wasted no time in getting ready with their proposal titled 'Cleanse & Protect,' centering around restaurant hygiene. The primary concern at hand is the unsanitary state of affairs. Not only do they deliver their solution in an exemplary manner, but they also impressively exhibit products that cater to their intended audience.
The SC President Vonn Jhenzon Puga once stated that their presentation is pretty content with how they presented their proposal, but one of their goods catches the judges' interest, which is their automatic dishwashing machine, which can last up to 5-10 years due to the high-quality materials utilized.
The Student Council and the SC Lead Adviser Ms. Prieto asked some questions about their product, which is if their target market is only fast food restaurants as their equipment is too expensive to buy. Given a scenario that fast food restaurants have quick services for the customers as their fully automatic dishwashing machine can clean up to 20-30 minutes.
“Is it not advisable for fast food chains? Maybe for high-end restaurants like hotels but for the fast food restaurants. I don’t think it's advisable for that.”
- Ms. Christie Marie Prieto
One of the Red Jaguars team members pointed out an additional factor contributing to the higher cost of their product. They opt for an automatic filter instead of the conventional manual filter, which accounts for the increased expense.
At the conclusion of the first day of the case study, students uncover the inner workings of the proposal and familiarize themselves with the concept. The abstract stands out as the crucial element of the proposal, as it aims to persuade the reader into accepting it. It is imperative to convince the reader that your proposal presents the optimal solution to our economic challenges.

The second day of 'PASIKLABAN: Tunggalian ng Talento at Kakayahan' has begun, featuring various festivities. Simultaneously, the APEC GURU competition is in progress, and students are engaging in the 'Flag Making' activity to showcase their artistic talents. They are given a time frame of 2 hours and 30 minutes to design and finish their flags.
The teams were assigned the responsibility of creating a canvas banner displaying their team's name. All teams have initiated the process of working on their flags. Upon inspection, it was observed that the Red Jaguars and Yellow Leopards are currently engaged in the drawing phase, while the Green Panthers and White Wolves are progressing towards painting their flags. After a brief period, the Red Jaguars and Yellow Leopards transition into the painting stage.
All teams are collaborating to create the best flag for their squad. Students must also demonstrate communication skills in order to assist one another in producing a beneficial outcome for their work. They utilize their animal symbol to represent their team's name.
They appear to be serious about what they are doing, yet beneath those expressions is a sense of humility toward one another. They put forth a lot of effort for their banner.
The Yellow Leopards team demonstrates confidence and leadership as they form a relationship. The White Wolves team also demonstrates their compassion. The Red Jaguars team demonstrates a remarkable level of boldness, while the Green Panthers team is full of energy and pleasure. That is how they conducted themselves throughout the entirety of the event.
The winners for each category of the Student Council's activities were announced as the event came to a close. The Yellow Leopards are the "Flag Making" champions, while the Green Panthers are the front-runners.
