"I'm convinced every daughter is good with words.
I know that every girl write so good.
Sit and settle if you wonder why,
Daughters are taught to be mothers.
Girls are taught to be pawns,
Ladies are thrown when they're none.
Women believe it not,
But it isn't why we're so good at writing words.
When we're taught to be mothers,
We wonder how and write it down.
When we're told to be servants,
We cry it all and word it out.
When we're silenced as ladies,
We grow to be women who cross our curses.
You're convinced we're good with words,
From all the expectation on how to deal with emotions.
You do not know the truth laid in front of you,
We cannot speak or it will begin a fight.
We cannot speak or it will break marriages,
Leave daughters fatherless.
We are good with writing our words,
Because we choose silence."
A poem by Seaside Wanderer
