Why do we need to sign up for a petition to stop the Willow Project?
This project create additional stress for Arctic wildlife, including the climate change that might happen.
Once this is approved, this will release 287 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the environment.
Proposed by ConocoPhillips in 2018, The Willow Project is an ongoing oil drilling project which sought to create new oil fields in order to alleviate the United States' dependence on foreign oil. Alaskan lawmakers back up this proposal, saying it will create more opportunities for the country.
However, drilling for oil will cause disruptions of pathways, animal habitats, and oil spills. This will also increase the effects of climate change and produce a great health risk for the community if this project will be approved by US President Joe Biden.
At the present time, 3 million people have signed a petition that opposes this project and that number will continue to grow. Your signature can save millions of lives and affect our future, sign now: https://chng.it/KskfMDzB9t
