Roberto Rodriguez

Self taught Percussionist Drummer Roberto Rodriguez Salguero

Studied with a handful of prominent Percussionists and Musicians

throughout his youth. His uncle was who first introduced Roberto to Conga

and Bongo drums at a very young age in his native country El Salvador.

Roberto has been playing drums and other percussion instruments

since the age of 10. He started his professional career in his native country as a Conguero for International Tropical Orquesta Sangre Morena In San Salvador,

El Salvador when Roberto was only 17 years old. He was then already touring the country with one of the most popular Tropical orchestras in the country then a couple years later he emigrated to the USA to reunite with his family. Since then he attended some classes at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. He had private lessons from fellow Puerto Rican Percussionist Oscar Santiago (Puya) Ill Nino, Ankla, Korn, Slayer etc. Roberto worked as a Sales rep at Hollywood Guitar Center becoming assistant manager, High End Drum sales & Vintage Drums Connoisseur.

He also worked as a Drum tech for Mexican Electro Latin band KINKY.

He became great friends and collaborator with Multi Platinum, Latin Grammy Award winning producer Ulises Lozano Performing and participating in an array of recordings with artists such as Amandititita, Angela Aguilar, Chiquis Rivera, Mexican Dubwiser, Tomasa Del Real, Raquel Sofia, Nina Dioz, Thomas Jack and various others throughout the years. In 2006 Roberto went on a European tour with a Heavy Psychedelic Ensemble called Heavy Water Experiments

where they did a 3 weeks tour of England, Belgium, Ireland and Netherlands.

Following up a full US tour the very next year.

Roberto recorded 3 full length albums with the group from 2006 -2010

Roberto has played professionally with several International Artists and Orchestras as well as Los Angeles based Rock, Funk, Jazz, Pop, Indie,Tropical

Latin, Cumbia, Salsa, Merengue, Rumba, Reggaeton, Urban Latin Music,

Electronic, Psychedelic, Avant-garde and Experimental groups.

Through the years he has toured and performed in many festivals across

the US and internationally including Fiesta Broadway, H20 Festival, Rock Fiesta,

Lucidity Festival, Desert Daze, Electric Forest, Burning Man,

Oregon County Fair, Genius Loci, Enchanted forest, Coachella,

Pachanga Festival, SXSW, EPR, Joshua Tree Festival, to name a few.

ROBERTO has also appeared on television performing live for EL REY NETWORK

tv show LUCHA UNDREGROUND Roberto appears on 4 different episodes

in season 1 and 2 airing on National Television and Cable tv.

Roberto also appears on Armenian Super start Pop Singer Armenchik's 2015

video for "True Love"going viral with over 10 Million views on YouTube

He has an innate ability to capture an audience through his well developed, subtle speed and powerful style that fuses traditional Afro Latin Folkloric rhythms

from all over the globe with his own imagination and urban inspirations.

Roberto is now a Latin Grammy Award Winning Percussionist

for his work with Chiquis Rivera album "Playlist" featuring Becky G and Amandititita. Produced by Ulises "El Licenciado" Lozano

winner of best Banda album 2020 Latin Grammy Awards.
