Based in Los Angeles, Nick Kennerly is a violinist, composer, singer/songwriter, session musician and arranger. Nick has performed alongside many renowned artists including Elton John, David Crosby, Glenn Frey, John Fogerty, Machine Gun Kelly, blackbear and Bollywood legend Sonu Nigam. Kennerly has also toured extensively with Grammy winning artist Rostam(formerly of Vampire Weekend) opening for artists such as Haim and The National. Nick has played on many major recordings for artists such as Justin Bieber, Big Sean, Khalid, Kaskade and Jhené Aiko.
Kennerly writes, performs, and produces his own music including his original pieces “Crazy Train” and “Arrival Jig” which he performed on ABC’s “Modern Family”(Ep. 721 & 922). He has also appeared as an onscreen musician on HBO’s “VEEP” and Netflix’s “The Politician”.
Nick holds a double degree in violin performance (Classical Music and Popular Music) at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music. He studied with Robert Anderson in the Popular Music Program, and formerly with Los Angeles Philharmonic Associate Concertmaster Bing Wang in Thornton’s Classical Music Department.
Kennerly performs and produces music with his own band, “Stardawg“, who will be releasing their 6th single on October 1st. When he is not playing music, Nick can be found agonizing his friends and family with his cringe-worthy puns.
