Nailed It!

Just like the TV show, students will attempt to replicate professionally made art works. Students worked in groups, learning how to work together and holding each other accountable. There are two rounds, giving the group that made the most accurate rendition a table trophy and the groups that made the least accurate a helping hand in the next round. The second round was rewarded with another trophy.

What I loved so much in this lesson was seeing how well everyone worked together! Students who were confident in their art making skills helped those who didn't which is something I strive for in all my lessons, but they really put their hearts into it!

Round One!

Each table will choose one of the following "Pop" Art designs. Each table will have two class periods to work together to duplicate their design. The table that has the most accurate artwork will be the ones to watch in the next round. The table with the least will get a helping hand.

Congratulations Green Table! The judges found your artwork to be the most accurate and the most complete!

Yellow Table came in last, but certainly not least. Time management became their enemy. Had they more time, their artwork would have been a success.

Green Table will be the ones to watch out for!

All 6 tables will be able to ask ONE question (per table, not student) to help them out in Round 2. Anything from advice to techniques.

Yellow Table will get a helping hand in round two from Ms. Mo for one whole class period. During this class period the other tables cannot ask their one question.

The table trophy for the first round of Nailed It! (It's not supposed to look pretty......)

Round Two!!

Students will now work on their own artwork, replicating Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe. Stduents at each table have to make sure that their arwork coordinate with one anothers. The table that has the most accurate and complete work will win. Students at the winning table will present their own piece individually. The artwork that is most accurate will win the Nailed It! trophy.

There was a tie for our second round. The class decided to give the second round trophy to the first place winner and the table trophy from the first round to the second place winner.
