PROGRAM FOR LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENT STUDENTS

The school system, in order to assure equal educational opportunity, recognizes the need to provide a program for students who are limited in English proficiency.

To that end, the superintendent shall be responsible for developing a plan to meet the needs of such students, including regulations and procedures for identification, assessment, programming, monitoring and follow-up .

Any formal Plan required to be submitted to the Maine Department of Education shall be submitted to the School Committee for approval on an annual basis or as otherwise required.
