ENRICHMENT IN EDUCATION

The School Committee recognizes the importance of providing enrichment opportunities for all students. The Committee further recognizes that there are students who demonstrate high performance capabilities in areas such as creativity, artistic capability, and/or in a specific academic field. Individualized programs to challenge these students and further develop their potential will be explored and implemented when appropriate. Such programs can provide enrichment and challenge from within existing educational programs while maintaining social relationships and development.

Goals

To provide students with:

A. An opportunity for challenging their intellectual abilities;

B. An outlet to develop their creative thinking;

C. Experiences designed to nurture leadership potential;

D. A means to expand and enhance their academic achievements;

E. An opportunity to express their artistic and/or performing arts talents; and

F. An opportunity to develop special physical abilities.
