STUDENT DISMISSAL PRECAUTIONS

No staff member shall excuse any pupil from school prior to the end of the school day or into any person's custody without the direct prior approval and knowledge of the building principal.

The building principal and/or designee shall not excuse a pupil before the end of the school day unless the student is ill or unless a written request for early dismissal has been submitted by the student's parents or parental permission is obtained. Telephone requests for early dismissal of a pupil shall be honored only if the caller can be positively identified as the pupil's parent or guardian.

Additional precautions shall be taken by the school administration appropriate to the age of students and as needs arise. No student shall be sent on any errand outside the school building except on matters pertaining to the student's own interest and then only for the most imperative reasons, unless specific consent is given by his/her parent/guardian.
