SPECIAL USE OF BUSES--PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN

The Transportation Supervisor is authorized to bus pre-school children according to the following guidelines:

1. Transportation needs of the CSD will supersede all requests from outside organizations.

2. The Transportation Department will bus four-year-old or older pre-school children using the bus equipped with seat belts.. Children must be accompanied by chaperones at the ratio of one adult per nine children. The chaperones will be provided by the agency requesting transportation.

3. Requests to transport pre-school children will be accepted from the following non-profit organizations. Requests from local non-profit organizations, other than those listed below, will be considered.

• Boothbay Region YMCA

• Boothbay Harbor Children's Center

• Head Start

4. Requests must be submitted to the Transportation Supervisor , in writing, at least seven working days before the event.

5. Fees to cover gas and oil usage and the driver's salary may be assessed by the CSD. Rates will be set in August and based on the previous year's expenditures.
