SCHOOL SAFETY PROGRAM

It is the policy of the School Committee to take every possible precaution to protect the safety of all students, employees, visitors and others present on school property or at school-sponsored events.

Each principal shall be directly responsible for the safety program in his/her school and the superintendent shall have overall responsibility for safety programs in the district. General areas of emphasis in the safety program shall include, but not be limited to, in-service training, accident record-keeping, building inspection, fire prevention, emergency procedures and traffic safety issues relevant to students, employees and the community.
