EVALUATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF

The Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Community School District School Committee believes that effective evaluation is essential to professional growth and continuous improvement in order to sustain a positive learning environment for students. Administrators will be evaluated yearly.

The superintendent and/or his designee shall be responsible for those evaluations. Administrative evaluations specifically apply to, but are not limited to, the following positions:

1. Principals Assistant

2. Principal

3. Special Services Director

4. Adult Education Director

5. Food Service Director

6. Transportation Supervisor

Evaluations will be conducted according to the following guidelines:

A. Evaluations shall be in written form and will be discussed with the administrator. The evaluation format should be one that is agreed upon by the school committee, superintendent and administrators.

B. Each year the superintendent will discuss the evaluations in a verbal report to the school committee during an executive session for that purpose. The administrator has the right to attend if he/she wishes.

C. The administrator being evaluated has the right to attach a memorandum to the written evaluation which shall become part of that evaluation.

D. Results of all evaluations shall be kept in written form in the confidential personnel files maintained at the Office of the Superintendent. The administrator will receive a copy of the evaluation.
