August 18, 2025
Dear parents and guardians,
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year at South Bristol School! We hope that your summer has been a good one.
School begins for students on Thursday, August 28. The middle school team looks forward to working with you and your child(ren) this fall. Mrs. Savage will be our new 5-8 math, 6-8 math MTSS, and 8th grade social studies teacher. She will be the 8th grade homeroom teacher and advisor. Ms. Wright will be the 6/7 homeroom teacher and teach 5-8 English/language arts, 6/7 ELA MTSS, and 6/7 social studies. Mr. Bigonia will have the 5th grade homeroom and teach 5th grade social studies, 5th grade math MTSS, and 5-8 science. Ms. Jordan will again be our PE and health teacher. Mrs. Miller is our new art teacher. Our new music teacher is Mr. Phillips. 6-8 students have the opportunity to be part of the SBS/BCS chorus and/or band program. PK-5 will have music classes with Mr. Phillips. Mrs. Thibodeau will teach guidance classes and counsel students individually and in small groups.
Our first couple of days of school will be focused on building relationships and classroom routines in our homerooms. Academics will begin the following week.
We don’t ask that students bring any school supplies but we know shopping for school is a fun thing for families, so do as you see fit. The only item that is challenging to keep up with is pencils. Sending your student with some pencils to begin the year can be very helpful. And restocking in February is a great way to get to the end of the year. We have bought pencils for the middle schoolers and they are available to anyone who asks.
School drop off starts at 7:45 AM and breakfast is available upon arrival. All middle school students are in the main school building this year. The Pledge of Allegiance will take place at 8:05 AM each day in the Center.
Enjoy the remainder of your summer!
Sincerely,
Mr. Bigonia, Ms. Wright, and Mrs. Savage
