Third Grade with Mrs. Peters

January 19, 2018

We have begun Unit 3 and a few days a week we will be combining Mrs. Gregg's class and our class , with half of the students doing some more skills focused work in Mrs. Gregg's room, while the other half receives equally differentiated math instruction (involving more extending challenges) with Mrs. Peters...both groups working on Unit 3 in Bridges math.

Students continue reading mysteries in small reading groups and have also been assigned chapter books to read individually with Mrs. Peters, as well as more individualized work on spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Students have been writing their own Legends/Folktales. This week we spent time editing, printing, arranging page layouts, and illustrating.

Students had their first lesson and work in writing in cursive.

Science/Social Studies

In Social Studies and Science students are continuing their study of weather (and we've had some wild weather to observe).

Students began a unit working with author Mary Cerullo and creating writing for a classroom book, focused on marine animals, that will be published later in the year.
