"I AM SEEKING I AM STRIVING I AM IN IT WITH ALL MY HEART" ~ VINCENT VAN GOGH
Hello dear friends! On this website, you will find lots of projects to choose from as well as fun links & options for you.
Please use whatever supplies you have around the house, and feel free to do the projects your own way. Time to CREATE!!
I follow some groups of artists on Facebook (which is often the best part). I've asked some of those artists if I can share their work with you. I'm very interested in your thoughts about these:
This is by Scott Jones & it appeared the same week that 'An Elephant in the Room' was your challenge. I thought that was ironic & funny.
I cannot find this artist's name, but she was creating a mandala & found that some of it started to look like COVID related images, which was unplanned. See how the outer ring of people look like they're wearing masks? There's an interesting shift in here of positive & negative space as well. Mandalas are a wonderful art form, that has spiritual roots. Try researching it, you'll find lots of cool stuff!
Next is an abstract painting by Maine artist Erik Howell. He used a canvas & acrylic paint just like the 7th & 8th graders did in the art room. Art is completely abstract when it does not represent anything. It doesn't look like a bird or a landscape or your cousin Fred, just shapes, lines, colors, textures, & patterns. What a work of art makes us think of can tell us a lot about ourselves. What do you think about Erik Howell's painting?
