Class overview
Our second grade classroom is a safe learning environment to think, laugh, share, make mistakes and make friends. Together we will reach the social and academic goals you have for your school year. My goal for our classroom is for all of you to reach your top second grade potential, learn what diligence looks like for you, and to choose kind in all circumstances.
About me
I'm your second grade teacher, Amy Davidson. I have been with Winslow Schools for 19 years, both as a special education teacher and second grade teacher. I live here in Winslow with my husband, Erik, son, Brody, and daughter Candace. Candace attends Winslow Elementary with you, and Brody attends Winslow High School. Mr. Davidson teaches math at Winslow High School.
I teach because I want to help students grow to their full potentials and understand that they will be running this country someday and we need peaceful problem solvers to do it well; I hope that will be you!
When I'm not teaching, I am coaching cheering, working toward my national board certification for teachers, volunteering, biking, watching my children in their multiple activities or spending time with my family, church family, colleagues and friends, enjoying the blessings of a comfortable, peaceful life here in Winslow, Maine, working with the best teaching staff you could find (my opinion, but I dare you to prove me wrong;)!
I look forward to getting to know you and your families this year and hope to make this year fun, exciting and full of learning!
